The first 6km are flat until the town of San Girio, where the first 3km long climb begins with an average gradient of 5%. We then reach the town of Potenza Picena, and then continue for about 25km with continuous ups and downs with points of maximum ascent at 8%.
From the capital of Macerata go down for 3km towards Pollenza. From below the village, continue towards Tolentino along a flat stretch. From the town famous for the Rancia castle, climb up to San Ginesio with maximum gradients of 9%.
At this point, you descend towards a flat stretch until you reach Sarnano, continuing towards the ski resort of SASSOTETTO. Here you face one of the two Hors Category climbs of the day, about 13km long, with an average gradient of 7.4 and peaks of 12%. The climb ends at the pass of Santa Maria Maddalena at an altitude of 1445 a.s.l. where you reach the hundredth kilometer of the 5 Mila Marche .
From here you undertake a long descent of 15km until you reach the beautiful Lake Fiastra, where, once you have passed San Lorenzo, you go up again for 2km until you reach the village of Fiastra, then a slight slight slope and further downhill to Valdiea, bivo Sfercia, where we are in the middle of the 5 MILA MARCHE RANDO. Then you turn left and, facing a slight stretch, you arrive at the university town of Camerino.
From Camerino there will be all descent and plain, for a total of 25 km up to Matelica, with the exception of the Brontoleto - Castel Santa Maria stretch, a very beautiful stretch in nature with peaks at 10%
From Matelica there are 90km to the destination; from here begins the second Hors category climb of the event, 13km long with peaks at 15%, very panoramic and demanding at the same time.
From the summit of Monte San Vicino at an altitude of 1213 we continue, descending towards Pian dell'Elmo, Frontale, until we reach the foot of Apiro where we find another 2km of ascent, to then descend again to the Castreccioni dam where, turning right, we begin go up to Cingoli for about another 5km.
Once in Cingoli, the easiest part of the 5 MILA MARCHE RANDO begins. Descend for about 10km and then continue on a slight slight slope to descend for another 5km until you turn right towards Montefano, where we will continue to climb. Reached Montefano, continue in the direction of Recanati for about 12 km of ups and downs. Finally we will descend towards the sea towards Porto Recanati where the arrival will coincide with the departure.

Qui si affronta una delle due salite Hors Category di giornata,lunga circa 13km, pendenza media del 7.4 e punte del 12%. La salita termina al valico di Santa Maria Maddalena a quota 1445 s.l.m. dove si raggiunge il centesimo chilometro della 5 Mila 250KM.

Arrivati a Cingoli inizia la parte più facile della 5 MILA 250KMSi scende per circa 10km per poi continuare con leggero falso piano a scendere per altri 5km fino a svoltare a destra direzione Montefano, dove riprenderemo a salire. Raggiunto Montefano si segue in direzione recanati per 12 km circa di saliscendi . Infine si riscenderà verso il mare direzione Porto Recanati dove l’arrivo coinciderà con la partenza.
