The first 10 kilometers are flat, and the route follows the coastline until reaching Porto Potenza Picena, where the first climb begins—6.5 km long with an average gradient of 4.5%. At the top of the climb, we reach the town of Potenza Picena, then continue for about 25 km of continuous ups and downs, with maximum gradients of 8%.
From Macerata, the route descends rapidly for 3 km toward Villa Potenza. From here, the route tackles two gentle climbs, reaching Montecassiano and Montefano—climbs rated 5% and 7%, respectively. At km 58, turn left toward Appignano. This very scenic, slightly downhill stretch continues until km 68. From here, the route begins to climb again toward Filottrano, one of our most well-known cycling towns, where you’ll tackle the “stepped” climb with alternating sections of 6% and 7% gradients interspersed with slightly flat sections, leading up to the final peak; before the descent toward Osimo, there is a gentle 8/9% stretch.
Once past Filottrano, there are 5 km of continuous ups and downs with breathtaking views; the next 5 km are downhill and on flat terrain all the way to the foothills of Montefiore di Recanati, where a short climb with a gradient of 6/7% gradient for about 2 km takes us toward Recanati, the birthplace of Giacomo Leopardi, with a series of short, gentle, and scenic ups and downs until km 95, where we then tackle a 2.5-km climb with an average gradient of 6%— a true springboard before beginning the descent toward Porto Recanati, where the finish line awaits and a big celebration for everyone!!!

Once we reach the capital of Macerata, we will undertake a 3km descent in the direction of Montecassiano and then go up again for 2 km to Montefano and Recanati, a Leopardian city, with continuous ups and downs.
Finally from Recanati, the descent towards Porto Recanati begins where the arrival coincides with the departure.
